Application, interview and selection process

We know that choosing a career can be overwhelming, so we’ve put together this easy-to-understand guide to our recruiting process.

Getting started

Definitely start exploring future internship or career opportunities as early as possible — even if you’re a freshman or sophomore. Check out EY Insight, our careers website experience, at ey.com/us/eyinsight, as well as our Facebook page to learn more.

You can attend events — ranging from career fairs to informal information sessions, which will allow you to…

  • Meet our people
  • Get a feel for what it’s like to work at Ernst & Young
  • Learn about future internship positions and about potential career paths

So, ask your school’s career services center for information about Ernst & Young events at your campus.

Initial selection

  • We review your resume and qualifications
  • Our recruiting team selects students for an initial interview based on academic background, extracurricular activities and work experience
  • During the recruitment process, you will also be asked to complete an application for employment. Instructions on how to access the application will be provided by an Ernst & Young recruiter or your school’s career services center

First interview

Usually a one-on-one interview on campus, this is a great way for us to get to know you, understand your career interests and qualifications and evaluate your potential future with Ernst & Young.

Second interview

We invite top candidates from the initial interview to a second round, which typically takes place in the office location where you want to work.

Hiring decision

We usually make a decision within two weeks of the second interview. We know that waiting to hear can be tough — so we let you know as soon as we can.

Ongoing contact

Our recruiters and professional staff will stay in touch with you throughout the recruiting process. Feel free to ask questions or request additional information.
